What can I see and do at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center?
Inside the center, you can view a variety of both dry and wet exhibits including a touch pool and several aquaria that highlight the sea life of the Port Townsend area as well as several natural history displays. If this is a subject that really interests you, consider signing up for one of the center’s fascinating wildlife cruises that happen during the spring, summer, and fall.
Where is the Port Townsend Marine Science Center?
This attraction is located in Fort Worden State Park. From Port Angeles, take 101 east to WA-20 north to downtown Port Townsend. Turn left on Mill Road and right on Discovery Rd. Discovery Rd. becomes F St. Stay on this road, then make a left on Cherry St. Cherry St. becomes Fort Worden Way, which leads into the park.
When is Port Townsend Marine Science Center open?
Hours vary by the season. From June through early September, hours are 11 am to 5 pm daily except Tuesdays. From after Labor Day to the end of October, the exhibits are open Friday through Sunday from noon to 5 pm. From November through April 1, only the natural history exhibit is open. Hours are Friday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm. During the remaining spring months, hours remain the same as the wintertime but all exhibits are open.
How much does Port Townsend Marine Science Center cost?
Throughout most of the year, adults cost $5 and youth ages 6-17 pay $3. Children under 6 are free. During the winter when some exhibits aren’t open, adults pay $3 and youth cost $2.
